About Us
The
Old Montana Prison stands tall on the Main Street of Deer Lodge, Montana.
Now a popular tourist destination, the Old Montana Prison once housed hardened
criminals in an environment that defined "hard time".
Rich
in history, these walls hold many memories and secrets. Over it's 108 year
history, approximately 28,000 men and women were incarcerated at the Old Montana
Prison. Their crimes
were often henious, from murder to assault, prostitution to drug use and even
crimes against animals.
Inside
the prison walls, the violence did not cease. There were riots and murders,
suicides and assaults. The environment was a breeding ground for anger and
despair, the criminal mind flourished, fed off a diet of hate and rage. Every
emotion known to mankind became alive in the prison... fear, loneliness and
agony screamed loudest of all.
What
is left behind besides empty cells and quiet buildings? How many souls did
the prison claim? These are questions to which we cannot answer, but if you
ever want to know....
Is
this prison haunted?
Remember the darkside and the lost, forgotten souls.
